Chinese : About the Curriculum

Aims

  • To utilize core learning through reading, writing, listening, and speaking; students will construct knowledge and develop generic skills to nurture a positive learning attitude.
  • To enhance Chinese language proficiency and establish a strong foundation in written Chinese.
  • To nurture a sense of appreciation for Chinese literature and culture.

CURRICULUM

  • Cover the nine learning aspects, including reading, writing, listening, speaking, Chinese literature, Chinese culture, values and attitudes, cognitive thinking and self-learning.
  • Utilize a school-based curriculum to develop students’ Chinese language proficiency.
  • Chinese will be taught in Mandarin, with a focus on understanding traditional Chinese vernacular.
  • Employ a variety of activities to facilitate whole-person development, and to cultivate lifelong learning skills.
